Development of ICT-Based Entrepreneurship Activities in Student Activity Units to Enhance Students' Entrepreneurial Creativity and Innovation
Abstract
This study aims to develop Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based entrepreneurship activities within Student Activity Units (UKM) to enhance the entrepreneurial creativity and innovation of students at Universitas Negeri Medan. This study employed a developmental research design based on the Borg and Gall model, integrating a qualitative approach to assess program implementation and a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis. The research subjects consisted of 275 students affiliated with 12 Student Activity Units and the Student Senate of Universitas Negeri Medan, selected through purposive sampling. The hypothesis testing results indicate that self-confidence has a positive and significant effect on students' entrepreneurial outcome orientation, business risk orientation, and future orientation. Furthermore, students' ICT skills in supporting entrepreneurial activities were categorized as good, with an average score of 62.33. This study resulted in a web-based information system for student activity development, which serves as an initial guideline for students participating in entrepreneurial competitions at regional, national, and international levels. These findings are expected to strengthen the technology-based student entrepreneurship ecosystem and support Universitas Negeri Medan's efforts toward becoming a World-Class University.
