Abstract

In some food service businesses, food and beverage orders are still taken manually, which often creates operational challenges for restaurants. Common issues include long customer lines, errors in recording orders, delays in relaying information to the kitchen, and difficulties for staff in monitoring table status in real time. These issues can affect service quality and customer comfort when placing food orders. This study aims to develop a QR code-based self-order system with table-session management features to make the ordering process more organized and easier to control. The development was carried out using the Agile Software Development method with a Scrum approach through several sprint phases. The service allows customers to place orders independently via their smartphones by scanning the QR code on the table. Customers can view the digital menu, select items, check out, and choose from available payment methods. In addition, the system can also manage table status in real time, helping to streamline restaurant operations. Test results show that the system helps speed up service, reduce order-taking errors, and simplify operational management in the food service industry.
